Janet Bateson Obituary
Janet Joann Bateson, 84, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 28, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Feb. 8, 1940, in Wayne, to Howard and Esther (Jacobs) Tyson. Janet married John R. Bateson on July 6, 1958, in Wayne.
She is survived by her sons, John K. "Skip" (Laurie) Bateson and Timothy (Sandra) Bateson; daughter, Pamela (Gregory) Caldwell; brother, Larry (Carolyn) Tyson; sister, Kathy (Ray) Balmer; grandchildren, Amanda (Mark) Naus, Kenny Bateson, Kristen (Cody) Wolfe, Sara (Jason) Johnson, Tracy (James) Freebairn, Ashley (Frank) Damon, Megan Awl, Mark Caldwell, Doug Caldwell, Nathan Caldwell, Nevaeh Caldwell, and Dominic Caldwell; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Barbara Baney, Nancy Corbin, Jolynn Tyson, Cindy Tyson, and Becky Beard; brother, Tom Tyson; and granddaughter, Joanna Treace.
She worked for Wood Lane Industries for 15 years, where she loved working with her clients and co-workers. She was a member of Basic Truth Church near Cygnet. She loved spending her time crocheting, reading, watching Hallmark movies, and spending time on her porch with her beloved dog, Katie, listening to music.
There will be no services at this time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne.
Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Wood Lane Industries.

I have known Janet since 1973. I was married to her sister for 30 years. Janet was a very loving person & someone that was a joy to know & be around. Rest In Peace Janet & say hello to John for me. He also was a person that was a joy to know.
