Jane Koehler Obituary

Jane Luette Koehler

Jane Luette Koehler passed peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, in Vero Beach, Florida.

She was born Dec. 23, 1934, in Findlay, to Virgil (Pete) and Geneva (Nin) Snyder.

Jane was previously married to James C. Koehler for 25 years.

She is survived by their children, Jeffrey (Brenda), Lisa Chubb (Bruce), Susan Joy (Keith), and James Koehler II (Tracy); loving partner for over 30 years, Raymond Sandor; grandchildren, Janie and Tyler Chubb, Nicole Joy Loy (D.J.), Kristy Joy Amos (Travis), and James and Katarina Koehler; great-grandchildren, Israel Amos, Ezekiel Amos, and Naomi and Conan Loy; and nephews, Peter, Jackson, and Phillip Snyder.

Jane was preceded in death by her father; mother; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Bettie Snyder; and daughter, Julia.

Jane was not afraid of hard work. She began her floral career watering grave sites at local cemeteries for her mother-in-law, Gladys Koehler. She was an entrepreneur and would chase opportunities without fear or trepidation. She loved and collected beautiful antiques and brought a flair of beauty and class to all her endeavors. She ultimately found her niche for all her many talents when she met Raymond Sandor, who owned a special decorative paint manufacturing company, Faux Effects International, Inc. Jane, Vice President and Editor of Faux Effects Magazine, loved beauty in all its forms - flowers, animals, nature, architecture, interior design, music, and art. "Being Editor of Faux Effects World Magazine brings me special joy. I am surrounded by beauty."

Jane will be remembered for her kind heart and concern for those less fortunate. She and her family were founding partners of Mission Possible, a Haitian missionary and education organization in Haiti. She was active in Women Aglow and she will also be fondly remembered for her compassion and love of animals. Jane was a very accomplished pianist. Playing her over 100-year-old Steinway piano brought her tremendous pleasure. This gift can be attributed to her mother who played the piano for silent movies. She taught Jane to sight read music. Jane played in a piano duet club and had regular recitals which required weeks of dedication and practice.

Jane also played the piano for numerous churches and organizations wherever she resided. Jane took "winning" very seriously. She was always ready for any competitive game, whether it was cards (which she played regularly), golf (she prided herself in out driving many men), tennis, and even Tango Dancing which she learned at the age of 75. Her favorite quote was "Remember to smile, be kind and use the good china - this is not a dress rehearsal!" Jane's void will be felt by all who knew and cherished her.

Friends are encouraged to send memorials to Mission Possible, 306 Bigelow Avenue, Findlay, Ohio, 45840, their local Humane Society, or charity of their choice.

Private burial is planned with celebrations of life to be held in Florida at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at New Hope Ministries, 4425 71st St., Vero Beach, Florida, and Ohio, which will be announced at a later date.

Dear Aunt Jane-
You were such an amazing force of life. You had a huge heart full of compassion and love, and the willingness to share whatever you had with others. When I was growing up and living next to the flower shop on liberty Street I would love to go when you were doing flower arrangements and just hang out and watch you design flowers! You were a true artist and yes you were skilled in so many different mediums.
I am sending my deepest condolences, not only from me, but from the others in the Mary Jo and Henry Koehler family: my brother John E. Koehler, my brother Joseph Koehler and his wife Michelle and their two children Luke and Emerson, and from me Carol Ann Koehler Dunford.
