James Treft Obituary
James Franklin "Jim" Treft, 87, of Findlay, passed away Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023.
Jim was born June 3, 1936, in Findlay, to Millard and Ruth (Riley) Treft. He married Joyce E. Leathers on Nov. 13, 1954, and she preceded him in death May 27, 2016.
Jim is survived by three children, Cathy (Mark) Wilson, Randy Treft, and Tammy (Roger) Erwin, all of Findlay; brothers, Max Treft of Findlay and Edward (Dorothy) Treft of Attica; six grandchildren, Amber (Brent Noblit) Biltoft, Moe (Keri) Wilson, Tricia (Jeremy) Conrad, Jimmy (Amber Lamb) Treft, Melissa (Josh) Launder, and Jessica (Scott) Bash; 14 great-grandchildren, Kayle, Maddie, Peyton, Thailor, Kaylynn, Dominic, Raelynn, Paige, Autumn, Lexi, Jayden, Brayden, Aubrie, and TJ; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John (Marilyn) Treft and Robert (Orma) Treft; sisters, Marilyn (William) Craig, Norma (Fred) Hohman, and Vickie Sue (Gene) Averill; and great-great-grandson, Skylar.
Jim was the owner of Jim Treft Excavating for many years and was an extremely hard worker. He loved spending winters in Florida, taking trips around Findlay in his golf cart, and was an avid bowler and deer hunter. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with his family.
Jim's funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Knollcrest Cemetery.

I am so glad that I talked to him at Bingo in Carey a couple weeks ago. I also always saw Jim and Joyce at bingo at the Humane Society, where I volunteered twice a week. I hope he won his night of playing. Blessings.
