James Edward Jim Saum

James Edward "Jim" Saum, 63, of Findlay, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, at his residence. He was born Nov. 21, 1961, in Findlay to the late Richard and Betty (Smith) Saum. He married his wife, Amy (Sandmann) Saum, Sept. 15, 1979, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Amber (Rachael) Saum, Dustin (Lindi) Saum and Holly (Josiah) Boss; grandchildren, Reise Saum, Landen Blankenship, Ethan Blankenship, Ryder Saum, Gabriella Blankenship and Jony James Saum; a brother, Steven (Vicki) Saum; a sister, Betty (Dean) McCaulley; and his beloved dogs, Bubba and Maggie.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Richard Saum, Elizabeth Snyder and Michael Saum.

Jim was a 1981 graduate of Findlay High School and worked as a mechanic and laborer. He loved spending time with his friends and family, but most especially his grandchildren. He loved to work on cars, rebuilding a 1979 GMC truck to race with his brother. He liked hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR racing - both in person and on TV.

Visitation for Jim will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky Street, Findlay, Ohio, 45840. An additional hour of visitation will be from 12 p.m. noon until the time of a funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at the funeral home. At Jim's request, please wear comfortable, casual clothing. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.
