James Myers Obituary

James Clinton Myers

James Clinton Myers passed away peacefully with his wife, Martha Shaver Myers, at his side Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, after struggling with heart problems. Jim was born April 11, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, to Charles Russell Myers and Julia Navin Myers. He attended college, but became ill and was unable to continue. He joined the Navy in 1959 as a radioman, Class 2 and E5 until Feb. 25, 1964. He was in the Naval Reserve following discharge until 1954 in Bainbridge, Maryland.

He married Sondra Liles Berry on April 9, 1966. A daughter, Michelle Renee (Mike) Grose, was born to them and remained the light of his life. He enjoyed their Indian Princess activities and softball games. Jim loved Michelle and Mike's dog, Winnie. Jim had two stepsons, William "Billy" Berry (Carrie) and Todd (Lisa) Berry. Jim has several grandchildren, including Faith Berry, Branson Berry, Olivia Berry, Emily Berry, Ivan Berry, Wyatt Berry, Autumn Berry, and Brandy Moddison; two great-grandsons; and a great-granddaughter. In 1990, Jim married Sandy Adams.

Jim worked for many years at RCA and still had many friends from there. In retirement, Jim enjoyed playing cards at Fifty 50 in Findlay. He also enjoyed all sporting events related to Notre Dame. His competitive spirit continued with games of cribbage with daughter, Michelle, of which there was no mercy.

On May 4, 2009, Jim married Martha. Jim added two stepchildren, LeiLani Hineland and Dwayne Hineland Jr. (Stephany). Jim was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Eugene, Marietta, Margaret, Harold, Josephine, Patrick, Jerry, and Paul; and stepchildren, Todd Berry and LeiLani Hineland and wives, Sondra and Sandy. He is survived by his wife, Martha; daughter, Michelle; and stepchildren, Billy and Dwyane along with great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services of military recognition will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to charity of the donor's choice. COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, is handling arrangements for the family. Online condolences may be made at www.coldrencrates.com.
