James Duggan Obituary

James R. Duggan

James R. "Jim" Duggan, 67, passed away Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.

Jim was born Aug. 2, 1956, in Dennison, to Roger and Maryon (Craig) Duggan. He married Nancy Powell in 1994 and she survives.

Jim graduated from Claymont High School, Uhrichsville, in 1974. He attended Kent State University, graduating in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice. While attending college, he put himself through school working at Muskingum Water Conservation District (MWCD) and southeastern Ohio radio stations. Upon graduation, he worked for State of Ohio Liquor Commission in Cleveland, leaving then for a career with ODNR, Division of Wildlife, as a wildlife officer in Harrison County, then being promoted to wildlife investigation in northwest Ohio, where he worked on pollution, hunter incidents, and non-game cases. Jim also worked at various radio stations and produced two outdoor-related programs - Outdoor Rundown, airing on many radio stations throughout the state, and Outdoors in the Valley for WJER in Dover, Ohio.

Jim loved being on the water in his boat, always had a beautiful vegetable garden, and loved his English springer spaniel, Mandy, and cats, Metzger, Callie, and Ann, who are all together again. He was also a member of Maumee Elks.

Private burial will take place at a later date.
