James Brenner Obituary

James Brenner

James "Jim" Brenner, 75, of Cookeville, Tennessee, peacefully passed away at his home Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Jim had experienced a decline in health for several years. He received devoted care from his wife, Linda. In his final days, he celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary and saw or spoke with his children, grandchildren, brother, and many friends.

Born and raised in Findlay, Jim was a graduate of Findlay High School and The University of Findlay. He attended First Lutheran Church. He served in the US Army and Ohio Army National Guard. Jim worked at several Findlay area employers, including Whirlpool, Blanchard Valley Center, and O.H. Materials, before moving to Tennessee and embarking on a career as a much-loved nurse practitioner.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Clela Brenner, brother, Bill Brenner, and his precious daughter, Courtney Brenner Yanda.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Sunderman Brenner; his brother, Robert Brenner (Becky Dinsmore); his brother-in-law, David (Cathy) Sunderman; his four children, Carl (Toni) Brenner, Christopher (Sue) Brenner, Patrick Brenner, and Brittany (Danny) Birdwell. Jim greatly enjoyed his fifteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim was an introvert who made an extra impact on the lives of many people. He loved his family, reading, and nature. A celebration of a life well-lived will be at an outdoor location at a later date for family and friends.
