Jack Metzger Obituary

Jack Robert Metzger

Jack Robert Metzger, 72, of Bluffton, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at his residence with his family by his side.

He was born Oct. 28, 1951, in Bluffton, the son of William L. and Betty D. (Weidman) Metzger. He married Deborah Baier on Aug. 6, 1977, and she survives in Bluffton.

Jack's survivors also include his son, Jason (Ryan) Metzger of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Leslie (Michael) Cochensparger of Arlington; grandchildren, Brandon Bowling and Megan Cochensparger; brothers, Joseph (Cindy) Metzger of Arlington and Mark Metzger of Findlay; and sister, Karen (Robert) Bushong of Arcadia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Terry, Steven, and David Metzger.

Jack was an U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving overseas and was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was employed at various factories in the area and was also a forklift operator. He enjoyed watching Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Browns, and The Ohio State Buckeyes play football. He liked to have a drink with friends, cook out, and always had many jokes to tell.

There will be no services at this time. The family is planning a celebration of life service at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed toward Bridge Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Armes Cancer Center.
