Jack D. Leonard, 90, of Upper Sandusky, died peacefully while surrounded by his family Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Jack was born January 12, 1935, in Monroe, Michigan, to Floyd Edward and Bernice Mae (Keiffer) Leonard, both of whom are deceased. He married Evalena "Ene" Carroll August 18, 1957, at John Stewart Methodist Church, and she survives.

He is also survived by his children, Dean (Sharon) Leonard of Upper Sandusky, Dick (Tracy) Leonard of Arlington, and Amy (Mike) Baldridge of Bellbrook; a son-in-law, Phil Herring of Harpster; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Emily Herring, Mark (Marleen) Herring and their children, Abigail Sue, and Henry; Keith (Hannah) Herring and their children, Isaiah and Judah; Katie (Aaron) Leightey and their children, Nora and Audrey; Rachel (Ross) Niederkohr and their children, Jack, Mary, and Annie; Kara (Jake) Hollis and their children, Tate and Hattie; Zane Leonard and his daughter, Palmer; Jake (Abbey) Leonard and their children, Ford and Rosie; Luke (Stephanie) Warner and their children, Evelyn, Lillian, and Brayden; and Andrew (Eddie Long) Warner.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sue Herring; great-granddaughter, Selah Herring; brother, Thomas Leonard; and sister, Barbara Little.

Jack retired as a machinist with Schmidt Machine in Upper Sandusky after many years of service. Before that, he had worked for the former Westinghouse in Upper Sandusky.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Upper Sandusky, and was active in the sports community through the years, serving as a coach with the Upper Sandusky Little League Baseball, and Midget League Football in his younger years; also, he served the community as a member of Upper Sandusky Park Board, Wyandot County Historical Society, and was active in Salvation Army endeavors.

For hobbies, Jack was a member of Wyandot County Rod and Gun Club, loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing; and being a Michigan man, he loved his Wolverines! He was also a gifted wood carver and avid reader. Most of all, Jack loved his family, and, along with Ene, enjoyed following his children and grandchildren through all their activities and games over the years.
