Ivan Breitigam Obituary
Ivan E. (Drivin' Ivan) Breitigam, 80 of Mt. Blanchard, died peacefully at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024, at The Heritage Nursing Home. Ivan was born Jan. 2, 1944, in Findlay to the late Ralph E. and Vivian L. (Litzenberg) Breitigam.
He was a 1962 graduate of Findlay High School.
Ivan had various occupations, including truck driver and owner/operator of his own towing and salvage businesses, and was retired from Whirlpool Corp.
Ivan loved all kinds of racing and owned and raced several cars over the years. For several years, he had push trucks at local dirt tracks. He also loved taking his '55 Chevy to car shows. He loved Ohio State Football and the Cleveland Browns. The family requests that you wear your football attire.
He is survived by a daughter, Jami Breitigam (Travis Powell); and his pride and joy, two grandsons, Dustin Tanguay and Zachary Tanguay. He is also survived by a brother, L. Wayne (Donna) Breitigam; two sisters, Debra (Robert) Martin and Phyllis M. Gerritsen; and several nieces and nephews.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger E. Breitigam.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2024, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home. There will also be one hour of visitation at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at the funeral home prior to the memorial service. Ivan's nephew, Roby Breitigam, will conduct services at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In place of flowers, memorials may be made to Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840

I knew Ivan From working at Whirlpool. He was a good person and I liked him a lot. I send my deepest condolences to his family and those who loved him. God Bless you all in your time of grief.

Ivan was my second brother and he kept busy. He took time on occasions to check on me and see how I was.. He loved his family and his cars. Known as Driven Ivan he has driven on to be with his family who have gone before him. I pray they have a great gathering on his arrival.

So many memories. Noisy cars as Ivan worked on them in his driveway next to my bedroom. Hearing his voice behind me at Walmart and instantly knowing it was Ivan. Having a great with him. Always here for you Jami
