Harold Zeller Obituary
Harold E. Zeller, 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 22, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. In the final days of his life, he was surrounded by the love of his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Susan Zeller Dunn (Rick) and Sonya Richardson (David); son, Jason Zeller (Julie); beloved sister, Marilyn Sarna (Joe); seven grandchildren whom he loved deeply, Michael Dunn (Julia), Nick Richardson (Ashley), Megan Jordan (Joshua), Heather Ross (Tyler), Blake Zeller, Katie Zeller, and Melanie Zeller; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carol Hamilton Zeller.
Harold was born Jan. 26, 1937, in Leipsic, to Harry and Eva Zeller. After attending Bluffton College, he left school to begin a life-long career at Modern Woodmen of America which brought him to Dayton. He continued to work up until a few weeks before his death.
Harold loved reading, history, and sports, and was an avid fan of Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also loved to travel, having been to 49 out of the 50 states and many countries.
Harold's greatest accomplishment and love was his family. He took his children and grandchildren on countless trips, attended sporting events and competitions for his grandchildren as their biggest fan, and always spent holidays surrounded by those he loved.
Harold's memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Tobias Funeral Home on Far Hills Ave in Centerville. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at David's Cemetery.
The family welcomes friends and family to join from 4-6 p.m. Saturday after burial at Sugar Valley Golf Club to celebrate Harold's life.

I am just seeing this, as Harold has been on my mind. He is my son's insurance agent, and there are not too many people that are a pure joy to know. I'm so sorry for your loss and deeply saddened we missed his memorial service. Our family will certainly miss our visits Harold. It was something all of us looked forward to. I would say rest in peace, but I'm sure you're up in Heaven keeping busy and probably convincing the angels why even they may need life insurance.

Harold was our kid's life insurance representative. What a fine man he was. He certainly picked the right career. He was absolutely a people person. Loved our conversations. Prayers for all of his family, friends, Coworkers and customers. RIP sir.

I met Harold 33 years ago when I applied for a part time job at his agency in Centerville Ohio. I was 49 at the time. I was hired as sort of an assistant for his office administrator, Joyce Bland. He was the agency manager. I worked there several years and watched his agency grow. I have fond memories of Harold. He treated us well, he invited everyone, employees and agents & their spouses, to wonderful Christmas parties at his house and would do other nice things for us. He taught me a lot and I enjoyed working for him as
well as having him as our insurance agent ever since. My sincere condolences to Jason, Susan, Sonya and all other family members for the loss
of this very special man in your life.
