George Goldsberry Obituary
George G. Goldsberry, 89, went home to his heavenly father Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Meadows of Ottawa.
George was born Aug. 13, 1934, in Hocking County, to Howard and Opal Goldsberry. He married Sandra (Tripplehorn) Goldsberry on Oct. 18, 1953, and she preceded him in death March 13, 2008.
He was a graduate of Gibisonville High School. He then dedicated many years to working as a heavy equipment operating engineer and a farmer. He was a lifetime member of Historical Construction Equipment Association and member of Beaverdam United Church of Christ. He enjoyed restoring heavy equipment, camping, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by three children, Linda (Douglas) Edinger of Stonington, Maine, Rod (Lori) Goldsberry of Bluffton, and Brian (LeeAnne) Goldsberry of Columbus Grove; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Katie) Edinger of Plain City, Allison Edinger of Stonington, Maine, Whit (Abby) Goldsberry of Bluffton, Sawyer (Kelsey) Goldsberry of Bluffton, Emily (Craig) Von Stein of Jenera, Ashley (Travis) August of Bluffton, and Gabe (Jenna) Goldsberry of Columbus Grove; and 15 great-grandchildren.
George was also preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Helen Goldsberry; and brother, Howard Goldsberry Jr.
George's services will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2024, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. William Herr will officiate. Burial will be at Campbell Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to West Ohio Food Bank or Historical Construction Equipment Association.
