Gene McDaniel Obituary

Gene E. McDaniel

Gene E. McDaniel, 87, died Monday, January 27, 2025. He was born March 29, 1937, in Forest, to Dwight and Amy (Barnes) McDaniel.

He is survived by his sisters, Joan Walters, Findlay; Linda (Edward) Garey, McComb; and Sharon (Harold) Myers, Arlington; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, John and Merle.

Gene was an Air Force veteran stationed in Darmstadt, Germany. He was employed by Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. in Findlay, and he also worked for Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. and Uniroyal Tire & Rubber Co. in Southern California. He retired from Cooper Tire in 1999.

Gene was an avid fisherman and loved sports. He loved watching The Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball teams. He really enjoyed life.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date.

Donations can be made to Taylor Place Assisted Living or Bridge Home Health and Hospice. The family would like to thank Taylor Place for the care they gave during his time there. COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay assisted the family with arrangements.
