Gary Gene Eckenrode

Gary Gene Eckenrode, 79, of Findlay, passed away at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, on Monday, December 4, 2023. He was born on April 9, 1944 in Bluffton, the son of the late Homer and Mable (Nowlan) Eckenrode. On June 20, 1970 he married Sharon Sue Grove who survives in Findlay.

Also surviving Gary is his son, Andrew (Beth) Eckenrode, of Findlay, and a daughter Colette (Kevin) Koerper, of Kansas, Ohio, as well as four grandchildren, Andrew, Owen, Dalton, and Chloe, two great grandchildren, Jacob, and LeRoy. Preceding him in death were his parents, and a sister, Ruth Schneider.

Gary was employed at the Blanchard Valley Hospital as a delivery technician retiring in 2008 to spend more time with his family. He was a Ada High School graduate and was an alumnus of the Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree. Gary taught vocational agriculture at Graham High School, St. Paris, Ohio. He also managed a Ponderosa Steak House in Findlay, and a member of the College First Church of God, Findlay.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay and one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday 11:00 am at the College First Church of God, Findlay with Pastor David Welker officiating. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.
