Eunice Thompson Obituary

Eunice Thompson

Eunice (Lugibihl) Thompson, 98, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 5:56 a.m. at her residence in Findlay.

Eunice was born August 19, 1927, in Pandora, to the late Alvin & Edna (Bechtel) Lugibihl. She grew up on the family dairy farm and graduated from Pandora High School in 1945. On August 7, 1949, she married the love of her life, Gerald F. Thompson. Together, they created a loving family. He preceded her in death February 16, 1991.

Eunice is survived by her children, Jerry L. (Samantha) Thompson, Terry D. (Susan) Thompson, Barry J. (Linda) Thompson, and Mary L. Thompson; grandchildren, Patrick G. (Sarah) Thompson, Laura M. (Sergio) Rodriguez, Katherine M. Thompson, and Robert M. (Johanna) Thompson; great-grandchildren, Autumn (Mo) El-Natsheh, Madison Thompson, Allison Thompson, Michael Thompson, Aurora Edwards, Liam Rodriguez, and Abram Rodriguez; and great-great grandson, Maverick El-Natsheh. She is also survived by siblings, Oliver (Patricia) Lugibihl and Gladys (Ed) Bolander; and many nieces and nephews.

Eunice was preceded in death by her siblings, Gordon (Ruby) Lugibihl, Roy (Mildred) Lugibihl, and Mary Avon (Donavin) Sommers and daughter-in-law, Kay Thompson.

As a nurse for 50 years, Eunice dedicated her life to caring for others. She started her career at Blanchard Valley Hospital as an ER nurse and then worked for Dr. Loren Senn, Dr. Eric Browning, Dr. Richard Polder, and Dr. Thomas Strigle until she retired in 1998.

Eunice was an energetic person throughout her entire time. She enjoyed gardening and canning, and often had contests with her youngest grandson to see who could shell the most peas. She also loved to quilt. Growing up as a farm girl, Eunice learned to love animals. Her favorite treat throughout her life was Dietsch Bros. ice cream. But Eunice's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. While Eunice was a sports fan, her favorite teams were always the ones her grandchildren played on. She went to as many events as possible. Eunice's greatest pleasure was doing things with her children and grandkids.

Eunice was a constant light for her family. She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind.

Funeral services for Eunice will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2026, with Pastor Ben Lowell officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until time of services, all at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made in Eunice's name to Bridge Home Health & Hospice or The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital.
