Emma Snively Obituary

Emma Lue Snively

Emma Lue Bunnell Snively, 85, of McComb, was escorted to Heaven by her guardian angel at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023.

She was born Nov. 6, 1937, in Bluffton, to Harry R. and Doris Irene (Dick) Bunnell. She was a "preemie" baby, weighing barely five pounds. She was put in a roaster pan on the oven door and bathed with olive oil. At about two years old, she developed polio and her mother tirelessly massaged her muscles so she wouldn't be an invalid the rest of her life. Growing up through grade school, she couldn't play with others, but began to grow stronger as she entered seventh grade. Her family moved from Mt. Blanchard to a farm at McComb her seventh-grade year. She was in band, 4H, and FHA. She had a cow as a 4H project and milked her for many years. She graduated from McComb in 1955.

God introduced her to her "soulmate," Robert Snively, and they enjoyed two years of getting acquainted and Sept. 9, 1956, they married, living a lifetime of 67 years together. God blessed them with eight children, Rick (Jenni), Roger, Cindy (Mike) Waslewski, Ron (Pam), Debra, Teri (Scot) Schaffer, Russell (Dawn), and Randall (Janelle); 23 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was a Proverbs 31 mother, housewife, nurse, business partner, farmer, and always available to help anyone in need. With seven of her children many states away attending universities, she kept busy with care packages, visitation, graduations, and wedding trips.

Her summers were full with gardening, helping with the family's purebred sheep in getting them ready for many county fairs, and Ohio State Fair (one year six children showed 88 head of sheep). She assisted with eight marriages - even two granddaughter's marriages - and traveled to help with newborn grandchildren. She was blessed when one granddaughter chose her wedding anniversary for their own marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Bernita (Gene) Bishop.

She never missed church services until lately when her health wouldn't allow. She trusted Jesus as her Savior at church camp and served the church in many ways. She will be missed by her family, friends, and neighbors. We now have one more reason to make ready for Heaven!!

Emma's Homegoing services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 8360 CR 140, Findlay. Visitation will be 12-1 p.m. Graveside services will follow at McComb Union Cemetery. Services will be live-streamed at www.Findlay.Church.

The family gives a big thank you to the Bridge Hospice Team for their excellent loving care, Pastor Walt Sheppard and Cornerstone Baptist Church, and Calvary Baptist Church.

Emma Lue is definitely one of God's favorites! I never saw her without a smile on her lovely face. A true Proverbs 31 woman who loves her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She exemplifies every way a Christian woman can serve as a woman, a wife, a mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother, a homemaker, a cook, a businesswoman, a helpmate to her husband, a gardener and, most importantly, a Christian. Heaven is her home and I know she is eternally where she knew she was going. May God's Peace and Comfort cover her Bob, her family and those who were blessed to know her. She will be missed.
