Edward Garey Obituary
Edward R. "Ed" Garey, 83, of McComb, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025. He was born in Gibsonburg December 30, 1941, to the late Floyd and Evelyn (Stone) Garey. Ed graduated from Mt. Blanchard High School in 1960 and worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 44 years. He married Linda McDaniel on November 11, 1970, and she survives along with his two sons, Jeff Garey, and Scott (Holly) Garey, both of Findlay; and daughter, Kristy (Matt) Liwo of Toledo. Ed is also survived by his sister, Louise Gorman of Kenton; three grandchildren, Jordan (Amber) Garey, Riley and Jaxon Liwo; and two great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Presley Garey.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Marlene McDaniel, Joan Walters and Joyce Barger.
Ed served on McComb Volunteer Fire Department and McComb Emergency Squad. He was a Christian and member of Upper Room Church of God. Ed enjoyed college basketball and loved attending the University of Findlay basketball games, but he especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed fishing. Ed was also a big Trump supporter. He never knew a stranger and mentored and helped many youth over the years.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at COLREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Gardens.
Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Ed to Upper Room Church of God.
