Dwight L. Allen

Dwight L. Allen, 82, of Findlay, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Fox Run Manor.

He was born Jan. 21, 1941, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Reverend Casper and Leona (Fish) Allen. He married Ruth M. Harney on Dec. 21, 1968, and she survives in Findlay.

Dwight is also survived by his son, Titus David Allen of Findlay; daughters, Nicole Inman of Findlay and Michelle Allen of Findlay; sister, Lois Armstrong of Rockford, Illinois; and grandchildren, Anthony Inman, Michelle Inman, Faith Allen, and Cade Allen.

Dwight was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Roger Allen.

Dwight achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bob Jones University, Master of Divinity from San Francisco Baptist Seminary, and Doctor of Ministry from the International Baptist College in Tempe, Arizona. He served as a youth pastor in Normal, Illinois; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; California; Chicago, Illinois; and San Jose, California. He served as a pastor in Camino, California; La Salle, Illinois; Joliet, Illinois; Idaho Falls, Idaho; Brainerd, Minnesota; and Calvary Baptist Church in Findlay. He served as Dean of Men at Pillsbury College, Owatonna, Minnesota, and was also a bird dog scout for Chicago Cubs.

Dwight was also active in radio throughout his career, hosting radio ministries in Joliet, Illinois; Brainerd, Minnesota; and Findlay. He was the host of "Racing World" on WFIN, as well as "A Second Look at Sports" and "A Sixty Second Look at Sports," on WKXA.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023, and 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2023, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 West Sandusky Street, Findlay. Dwight's funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Denny Coates and Rev. Alan Carson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.

When I think about Dwight, I think about how he had a ministry to lots and lots of people from lots and lots of different walks of life ... he was a really good man and I enjoyed the many opportunities I had to work with him.
