DuWayne was one of the first people I met when we moved to Findlay in 1980. He played saxophone for me in the newly formed Findlay Civic Jazz band and was one of those guys you meet and soon feel you've known forever. Pat and I were short of money, just coming out of grad school and taking a job teaching at Findlay College. Both of our cars died and DuWayne offered to give us the keys to one of his cars until we could get on our feet. I'll never forget that act of kindness that we so needed at that time. We'd love to be there to pay our respects at the funeral but we'll unfortunately be in KY helping with our grandchildren. Our love and condolences to the family. Know that DuWayne was a special person and touched the lives of others in many silent ways. RIP friend DuWayne.
