My family had the priviledge of getting to know david the last 6 years of his life. He was our neighbor on lakeshore drive. The first time I met him I knew we would be instant friends. Burnside is a second home for us. When we came to the lake the first thing we always did was check on Dave. We would often times bring him over meals before we left to comehome. He was always so kind to my family. He always offered his pool for us to cool off after a long day of boating. I had many conversations with Dave. I enjoyed his stories. He loved to talk about his family, his cars, his farm, his love of animals and his career as a dentist. It wont be the same for us at the lake. He will be truly missed. I am blessed we had the opportunity of meeting him. Prayers for the family

Doc was like a second father to so many of us.
He always covered for us boys.
I was college roommates with DAVE Junior and we always on leave college and come down to Burnside for the weekend They would always cook us breakfast and made sure our laundry was done before we left.
I was talking with DAVE Junior and Denny a couple days ago and reminiscing on just one of the many great memories with Doc. DAVE Junior and I ran down to Burnside Island and one of the local police officers clocked David Jr around 80 miles an hour and a 45 zone. When we noticed that we got clocked, Dave Junior put the hammer down and we managed to get back to the house before the officer could catch us. The officer pulled into the driveway and knocked on the door. Doc answered the door and ask what he could do for the officer. The officer said I’m looking for Junior, I just clocked him doing an 80 in a 45. Doc said you must be mistaken. Those boys have been sitting there watching football all day. It was a little bit cool that day, so you could still see the heat coming off of the car hood. The officer noticed it and told Doc that the car is still hot. Doc said that Sun‘s pretty brutal isn’t it. The officer shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Doc came in, pretended to lecture us. You boys shouldn’t be doing that. Trying to hold back his laughter.
Thank you for always taking care of us Doc.
Much Love.

Danny, Joey, Debbie, and David’s sons.
My heart goes out to y’all. I can’t begin to count all the good times Jimmy, Shirley, and I used to have when we visited you guys in Monticello. I also can’t begin to count all the trouble we managed to get in and out of.
One memory that comes to mind is racing David. Not sure where it was but it was a popular road between Monticello and Somerset.
We got all lined up with Kerry(Diwanna) standing between David’s ‘64 Chevy Nova 427 and my ‘68 Plymouth Road Runner 383. I thought I had a fast car, but when Kerry gave us the signal, all I saw were David’s tail lights.
Good Times and memories are forever.
May God be with each of you through this.
Love Y’all!!!
