Douglas Rader Obituary

Douglas Glenn Rader

Douglas (Doug) Glenn Rader, beloved father, husband, and friend, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus Friday, January 24, 2025, at the age of 68.

Doug was born March 30, 1956, in Findlay to Janelle and Noble Rader. He was raised in McComb and graduated from McComb High School in 1974, receiving his bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University in 1978. Relocating to work as a programmer for Texas Instruments in Dallas, he found professional success and lasting love. He met his wife, Patrice, and embarked on their 46-year journey together.

Doug will be remembered for his sharp wit, love of a bargain, faith in God, and his strong will and principles. His words, possessions, and people were few but intensely meaningful. He believed in punctuality, integrity, service, and perseverance, while always ready with a joke to brighten someone's day. He was an avid sports fan, a lover of music, and a game show expert.

Doug is survived by his wife, Patrice; his children, Jason Govea, Bonnie Rader, Douglas Rader, Kelly Bender (Blake), and Christy Rader; his grandchildren, Luca and Austin Bender; his sisters, Debbie Edel (Jay), Diane Watson (Craig), and Dauri Shank (Randy); his brothers, Dave Rader (Nan Rawlins) and Dallas Rader, and his honorary brother, Robb Coffman.

He was preceded in death by his cherished parents, Janelle and Noble Rader.

Doug will be missed by all who knew and loved him, but we know he is in Heaven cracking jokes, winning big on Supermarket Sweep, and listening to The Beach Boys, all with a ginger ale and a seven-layer bar within his reach.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. CT. Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Allen, 705 Central Expy S., Allen, TX, 75013. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Doug's life. The event will also be live streamed. Please email Bonnie Rader, [email protected] for the link.

In lieu of flowers, Doug requested a donation to Meals on Wheels in McKinney, Texas.
