Dortha Radabaugh Obituary

Dortha E. Radabaugh

Dortha E. Radabaugh, 88, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at Mennonite Memorial Home of Bluffton.

Dortha was born Feb. 1, 1934, to James and Fannie (Conine) Crawfis, who preceded her in death. She married N. Reed Radabaugh on Dec. 13, 1954, and he preceded her in death April 30, 2004.

Dortha spent many years as a stay at home mom. She taught her children the value of hard work around the farm and the joy of play as they swam in the pond or played games on a snow day. Dortha kept her family connected by starting a Cousins Campout in 1996 at the family farm that is ongoing with a date already set for the 2023 Campout.

Dortha was a 1952 graduate of Leipsic High School. She operated Country Coup Ceramic Shop and worked as a secretary for many years at Pleasant View United Methodist Church. She was a member of Bluffton Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her children, Joel (Jane) Radabaugh of Findlay, Diane Wenger of Middlebury, Indiana, Brett (Michele) Radabaugh of Powell, Todd Radabaugh of Findlay, and Ryan (Linda) Radabaugh of Findlay; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles I. Crawfis of Gilboa.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Amstutz and Elizabeth Pingle.

Dortha's service will be 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Dave Good will officiate. Burial will be at Clymer Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bluffton Presbyterian Church or Bluffton Senior Center.

My deepest sympathies to the family. I have many fond memories of our school days at Blanchard High School especially when Dot started a club for us girls and for initiation we had to learn to play "Chop Sticks". She always had a good idea for a fun activity. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
