Dortha Jean Gillogly
Dortha Jean Gillogly, 93, of Mount Cory, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Serenity Spring Senior Living in Arlington. She was born May 15, 1932, in Salyersville, Kentucky, to Bert and Ressie Greene.
In 1935, the family relocated to Ohio and settled in the Vanlue area, where she attended school. "Jean", as she was known by friends and family worked for Triplett Meter Company in Bluffton. In 1953, she married Durwood Entsminger and had two sons. Her husband tragically died in a hunting accident in 1958. In 1960, she married Ronald Gillology, and they had a son. Ron preceded her in death in 2023.
She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Rogge and Martha Strange; her sons, Gary (Laney) Entsminger, Brad (Kathleen) Entsminger, and Jeffrey (Christine) Gillogly. Also, her grandchildren, Benjamin (Courtney) Entsminger, Rachel (Alan) Lanning, Jennifer (Devin) Butler, and Matthew Entsminger; great-grandchildren, Carley, Cailynn, Kennedy, Emmalynn, Landon, and Alan.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clyde, Donald, and Kenneth; sisters, Alma, Orpha, Thelma, Virginia, and Nella Fay; niece, Gloria Frommer; nephew, David Greene; and daughter-in-law, Marsha Gillogly. Jean had countless beloved nieces and nephews, also.
A devoted homemaker who loved her family and beautiful flower garden, and was excellent at games like ping pong and cornhole. Jean enjoyed spending 62 years at her home in Mt. Cory. She had a love for athletic competition and enjoyed watching her sons' Cory Rawson High School sports teams and Ohio State football and basketball. She was a member of Gospel Fellowship Church in Rawson and knew Christ as her Savior. We would like to thank Courtney, the hospice nurse, for loving care.
There will be a private family burial at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay, at a later date.
Hanneman Funeral Home, Findlay, has been entrusted with Jean's care.
