Dorothy Verplatse Obituary
Dorothy M. Verplatse, 91, of Findlay, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Sunrise Senior Living. She was born to the late Frank and Louise (Wagner) Scherrer in St. Louis, Missouri, September 6, 1934, and moved to Findlay, Ohio, after marrying in 1962.
Dear mother to Ann (Steve) Tong of Findlay, Carolyn (Glenn Sellke) Verplatse of Strongsville, and Allen (Valerie) Verplatse of Columbus. Proud grandmother to Anthony Tong of Cincinnati, Alexandria Tong of North Canton, Christina Verplatse of Texas and Evelyn Verplatse of Columbus.
Dorothy retired from Ford Motor Credit after 13 years of service and previously managed JB Clothestree in Findlay.
She was a long-time member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and a long-time volunteer with CHOPIN Hall.
Per Dorothy's wishes, there will be no visitation or viewing. Her memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2026, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, Ohio 45840. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Michael's Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, Ohio 45840.
