Dorothy Louise Roy

Dorothy Louise Roy, 88, of Findlay, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, at Fox Run Manor, Findlay.

Dorothy was born March 28, 1934, in West Leipsic, to the late Otha and Frances (Kersh) Shaffer. She married Francis Roy on Aug. 24, 1952, and he preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1986.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Greg (Jeannette "Jan") Roy of Findlay and Sandi (Dawn La Roche) Martin-La Roche of Largo, Florida; and two granddaughters, Shana Martin and Monique (Andy) Podach.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry and Donnie Shaffer.

Dorothy was manager of Lawson Stores and then became store manager of Salvation Army until her retirement. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. Dorothy was an excellent baker. She was known for her oatmeal pies and pumpkin cookies and always was willing to try a new recipe. Dorothy enjoyed working in her garden and reading a good book. She was a loving mother and grandma and will be missed by those who knew her.

Per Dorothy's request, a family graveside service will be at McComb Union Cemetery with Pastor Rick Broughton officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 Park Dr. S., McComb, Ohio, 45858.

The family request no flowers and to make a memorial contributions in Dorothy's honor to Salvation Army.
