Dorothy Gibson Obituary
Dorothy Gibson, 88, went to her eternal home Saturday, July 15, 2023, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 4, 1934, in Ada, to Frank and Susan (Atchison) Gibson.
Dorothy worked at RCA for 17 years, Whirlpool for 28 years, and earned her STNA certificate at the age of 71 so she could be a caregiver to many people. She was a devoted Christian, attending Salvation Army church as her three older children were growing up, even cooking for a church camp in Colorado. She loved going to auctions, working a food truck, bowling, ceramics, roller skating, traveling, and driving to many states vacationing and visiting family. Above all, Dorothy had a passion for her family and caring for others. When her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were born, she loved spending time, love, and laughter on them. She especially enjoyed going to watch their ball games and school activities. She drove her grandchildren to school every year on the first day of school. Many people will miss Dorothy's sense of humor.
Dorothy is survived by a son, David (Elizabeth Lafferty) Marshall; daughters, Deborah Bays and Ginger (Nathan) Dirmeyer; brother, Raymond (Karen) Gibson; sisters, Ann Vela, Irene (Gerald) Pfannenstiel, and Darlene Gibson Dion Chandler; grandchildren, Gregory, Paul, Nathan, Matthew, Zachary, Alexandra, Timothy, Stacye, Austin, Dustin, Quinton, and Coleton; and great-grandchildren, Melody, Gibson, Marshall, Jacob, Maci, Lillian, Nora Jean, Lionel, Noah, Kenyon, Kenzley, Kalaya, and Benjamin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tammy Bays; granddaughter, Holly Artis; great-grandson, Benny Bays; and brothers, Harold, Gibson, Bill Gibson, Don Gibson.
Dorothy's graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at Dunkirk Cemetery, with Pastor Jim Klausing presiding.

My sister Dotty loved others and was always there to help. She took care of our parents when they were ill and needed help. She was a loving, kind, giving lady that was a great cook & caregiver with a wonderful sense of humor. I will miss her. I am praying for her kids, grandkids, & great grandkids.
