Doris Altman

Doris (Schirmer) Altman, 84, of Findlay, passed to her eternal reward Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, at Cridersville Care Center, where she had been on Hospice care since Sept. 19.

She was born May 30, 1939, and was raised by her adopted parents, Mary and Ed Schirmer. Doris was a kind, generous, and loving person who lived her life with a strong Christian faith.

Doris is survived by her adopted son, David Trusty; grandson, Alex; and the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of her deceased husbands. She was also a beloved sister-in-law to Eve Barrick, Bonnie (Edward) Schirmer, and Susie (Joe) Schirmer, and aunt to their children and grandchildren. She is also survived by family friend, Ron Snyder, and grandson, Trevor Snyder. Doris had a close relationship with several cousins and friends as well. She will also be missed by her dogs, Topsy and Turvey.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edward and Joe Schirmer; and previous husbands, Loren Bates, Ralph Green, Ron Oldham, and Ray Altman.

Doris graduated from Bath High School and later pursued a career in nursing. She dedicated her life to helping people. Doris had a genuine passion and dedication to others and leaves a lasting impact on those around her. Doris found solace and strength in her faith and was an active member of her church.

Doris will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Please join them Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 8360 County Road 140, Findlay, Ohio, 45840, as they celebrate her life and homegoing. The church will open at 9 a.m. with the celebration of life service at 10 a.m.
