Donald Zimmerman Obituary
Donald Elder Zimmerman, 93, of Findlay, died peacefully Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Bridge Hospice, Findlay, with his family at his side.
He was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Harrod, to Noble and Cleo (Elder) Zimmerman. He married Mirella Straley on Aug. 8, 1958, and she preceded him in death April 11, 2019.
He is survived by his children, Steven Noneman (Candace Reinhard Noneman) of Columbus, Montana, Dennis Zimmerman (Leslee Smith) of Findlay, and Lisa Robinson (Douglas Robinson, deceased) (good friend, Mike Klein); grandchildren, Craig Noneman, Robert (Sarah Dunning) Noneman, Andrea Keebler, Nicholas Bruzas, Olivia (Adam) Stuller, Samantha Zimmerman (Mack Myers), and Tiffany (Bradley) Contreras; great-grandchildren, Octavian and Zaiden Gonzales, Anthony and Brooklyn Bruzas, and Rose Rae Stuller; brother-in-law, James Miller of Harrod; and sister-in-law, Nancy Zimmerman of Ft. Myers, Florida.
Donald was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Willard Zimmerman and Noble Jay Zimmerman; and sisters, Mary Ann Lawrence and Phyllis Eileen Miller.
Donald was a farmer and entrepreneur. In 1960, he moved into Findlay and was the owner of Zimmie's Quick Lunch. He was a member of Howard United Methodist Church and Findlay Elks Lodge BPOE #75. He was an excellent athlete, enjoying basketball, baseball, and golf. He also was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and loved harness racing.
Donald and Mirella enjoyed many friendships at Mt. Vernon Estates while wintering in Bradenton, Florida. He enjoyed a prosperous and full life. He will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, until the time of Donald's funeral at 3 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Pastor Gay Blau will officiate. Interment will be at a later date.
Memorials may be given to either Howard United Methodist Church or Bridge Hospice.
