Donald Paul Sherman

Donald Paul Sherman, 83, of Findlay, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

He was born Dec. 14, 1940, in Carey, to William and Dorcas (Long) Sherman.

Donald served in U.S. Army from 1958-1964. He married Barbara (Cole), on Jan. 8, 1966, and she preceded him in death Dec. 19, 2023. He retired from Crushproof Tubing in McComb and was a member of Van Buren United Methodist Church. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State University football team and Cleveland Browns. Donald also enjoyed playing softball - even into his 60's. Donald also loved Dachshunds, having many throughout his life.

He is survived by his children, Tim (Stephanie) Sherman, Beth (Joe) Kizer, Jody (Bob) Hertel, and Lori (Chris) Nagy; sister, Jane Stoepfer; seven grandchildren, Drew, Kristen, Shawn, and Brett Hertel, Amber Smith, Kasey Sherman, and Jacob Kizer; and eight great-grandchildren.

Donald was also preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Howard Sherman.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, until the time of Donald's funeral at 11 a.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky Street, Findlay, with Pastor Kelly Sterling officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, McComb, where full military rites will be performed by Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
