Donald Parrish Obituary

Donald Keith Parrish

Donald Keith "Don" Parrish, 64, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Don was born May 21, 1959, in Richmond, Virginia, to John Parrish and Doris Poore Parrish.

Don, who lived in Findlay, moved to Ohio in 1989 and started his first construction company, D&D Decking, which would later evolve into Creative Deck and Fence, LLC. He was a veteran of U.S. Army (1977-1981).

Don is survived by his wife, Barbara Mull Parrish, whom he married Sept. 29, 2001; two children, Logan T. Parrish and Jonathan C. Parrish; stepson, Jeffrey Van Seghbroeck; and siblings, Leslie and Jim Pochkar, and Gary and Margaret Parrish; 11 grandchildren; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his father, John; mother, Doris; and stepson, James Van Seghbroeck.

Don loved to meet new people and always made a huge impact in their life. He had many friends and made even more over the years doing what he loved. He had a heart of gold and wasn't afraid to show it. He was the life of the party and there was never a dull moment when he was around.

He was a passionate gardener who loved keeping his flowers around his "staycation" home looking beautiful and would always be quick to show them off. You could always catch him after 5 in the summer listening to the Rolling Stones out back by the pool and enjoying his spirits with his late dog, Kita, by his side. He even did a very impressive McJagger move if you asked him. Collecting NASCAR memorabilia and going to races as well as the Outer Banks, North Carolina, were things he looked forward to every year.

He is loved by many and will be missed even more.

Don's celebration of life will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at Findlay Moose Lodge #698, 1028 W. Main Cross St., Findlay. All are welcome.
