Dianne Fredo Obituary

Dianne M. (Hammond) Fredo

Dianne M. (Hammond) Fredo, 81 of Findlay, passed away at The Manor at Greendale at 12:55 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025, after a several-month battle with dementia. Dianne was born in Fremont,October 18, 1943, to the late Lola R. (Stine) and William Busdicker.

She married Robert D. Hammond March 9, 1962, and he preceded her in death September 14, 1992. They had four children, Christopher W. Hammond (Mary Beth), David H. Hammond (Kimberly), Bradley D. Hammond, who preceded her in death June 28, 2021; and Tammy S. (Hammond) Riedlinger (Dean). Dianne married Dominic V. Fredo October 8, 1994, and his children, Dominic V. Fredo II (Janelle) and Todd J. Fredo and they became part of her family. 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren survive her, with two on the way. A grandchild, Ean Robert Riedlinger, preceded her in death April 29, 2001. Dianne is also survived by two very good friends, Rennie (Bob) Pepple and Micki (Larry) Price, and the family thanks them for their years of support and love for Dianne and the family.

Dianne worked for several years at Copco Papers. She was a secretary at Cooper Service, where many looked forward to her smiling face. She spent many years running the snack bar at Timber Lanes and Sportsman Lanes. She was known as Lady Di by many and that name followed her to this day. In her retirement, she spent her weekends preparing breakfast for all at the Fairfield Inn in Findlay.

Dianne's hobbies were bowling, bingo, and Las Vegas, and she enjoyed being a part of Red Hat Society. Her love of Vegas allowed her to live her winters in Pahrump, Nevada, in the warmer climate, and many of her children, grandchildren and friends visited her and Dominic there. She and Dom had many friends from that period. Sherrie's Brothel was a frequent drive-by for most visitors, which remains a family laugh.

Dianne was a gigantic Elvis fan and shared the same day of her passing with him. She collected his memorabilia as well as chickens, snow babies, and Nora Roberts and Danielle Steele books. Her collections of Vegas mementos were countless, matchbooks, playing cards, silver coins and the list goes on.

The family would like to thank The Heritage, St. Catherine's in Fostoria, The Manor at Greendale and Bridge Hospice for their care and support of Dianne during her journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for a Cure, Participant No. 7765434, P.O. Box 738901, Dallas, Texas 75373-8901 or Cancer Patient Services' Flock Walk in loving honor of her granddaughter, Emily Wolfe, and her commitment to ending cancer through research and patient support.

Due to Dianne's love of the color purple, we ask that you wear purple in her honor.
