Dennis Allen Zahler
Dennis Allen Zahler, 76, of Ft Mitchell, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025.
Born July 20, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Alfred Alexander Zahler and Constance (nee: Rifici). Denny was a husband, father, and papa, and went home to be with Jesus Sunday, May 25, 2025. Denny was a child of God, loved Jesus, knew he was forgiven and saved by grace. He loved his children and adored his grandchildren, all ten of them, and most recently, his new great-grandchild.
Denny graduated from Findlay High School in Findlay, Ohio, in 1966, where he lettered in football and, somewhat lovingly, never let his family forget. He went on to graduate from The University of Findlay, where he played football and lettered all four years and again, made sure his family didn't forget. Denny was always grateful to the university for the help and direction they gave him as a student and continued to support the university throughout the remainder of his life. He always said he wanted to pass on to others the opportunities that so many had provided for him. In 2004, the university presented him with The Distinguished Alumni Award.
Denny was the creator and owner of Zahler & Associates Insurance Company, and he believed his mission was to provide personal service to his clients by giving them peace of mind beyond just coverage. His work and dedication earned him the honor of Lifetime Membership of The Million Dollar Round Table. His expertise and advice were sought after as Dennis served on advisory boards for the different companies whose products he sold and wanted to perfect.
He was a long-time member of Lakeside Christian Church, serving in the capacity of many roles, followed by membership of New City Presbyterian Church in Norwood. As described by friends, Denny will be remembered for his gifts of friendship, outreach, and hospitality.
Denny's service flowed into the community as he was honored to be named a Kentucky Colonel and served 12 years as a member of Ft. Mitchell's City Council. Multiple years he supported his children's sports of football, hockey, figure skating, color guard, and was a prop dad for the Beechwood Marching Band!
Of all his accomplishments, Denny's greatest joy came in loving his children and grandchildren, embracing their achievements, and inspiring their goals. He had the gift of giving; his grandkids all knew it and quickly learned how to talk their Papa into just about anything their little hearts desired.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara (nee: Lewis); sons, Matthew (Corey) and Scott (Dawn); and daughter, Amanda (Michael) Morehart; his 10 grandchildren, Josiah Zahler and Caroline (Hunter) Hauser; Carson, Gavin, and Malone Zahler, Olivia, Charleigh, Paden, Edith, and Lucy Morehart; his great-grandson, Archer Hauser; many nieces and nephews; his brothers, Al Zahler, Walter (Andi) Zahler; and sister, Jan McCoy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kevin Zahler.
Visitation is 11-1 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2025, at New City Presbyterian Church, 4400 Floral Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45212. Service immediately following at 1 p.m. at the church.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2025, at Bright Cemetery, Findlay.
