Deborah Beck

Deborah J. Beck (Zimmerman) passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 6, 2025, in Somerset, Kentucky, following surgeries for a pelvic fracture. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Bruce; two daughters and sons-in-law, Andrea (Beck) and Michael Creech and Sarah (Beck) and Chad Neichter; and two granddaughters, Faith and Cora Neichter. She is also survived by her brother, Greg Zimmerman (Mary); brother and sister-in-law, Linden and Karen Beck; and eight nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Judy Zimmerman; mother-in-law, Margaret Beck Blair; brother, Ronald Zimmerman; and nephew, Chris Zimmerman.

Deb was born November 30, 1954, in Wolf Point, Montana, and grew up in Minnesota. She went on to attend the University of Miami in Florida. Deb and Bruce were married October 7, 1983, in Arizona, and shortly after relocated to Ohio, where they raised their girls in Findlay. They had retired to Lexington, Kentucky, and had recently made the decision to move to Somerset full-time.

Deb found great joy in keeping up with her granddaughters' many activities. She loved attending concerts and shows with Bruce, cheering on the Buckeyes, and playing cards-often convincing everyone to stay up for "just one more" game with her charm.

She often came out ahead in those card games, just as she did in life-facing each challenge with strength and perseverance. She leaves us with the comfort of knowing she believed life on earth is only part of the journey. Now, in the presence of the Lord, we find peace in knowing we will see her again.

A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, where family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Friday until time of service. Burial will follow at Lee Cemetery, Amanda Township.
