David Smith Obituary

David Everett Smith

David Everett Smith, 83, of Findlay, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, Ohio. He was born September 6, 1939 in Springfield, Ohio, to the late John Everett and Pearl (Sharp) Smith.

David married Bonnie Gibson on May 19, 1956 and she preceded him in death on May 9, 1981. David later married Kay Deal who has also preceded him in death. David worked for Mac and and Bob Towing, later as a truck driver, and retired from Peterbilt in Findlay as a supervisor. He enjoyed NASCAR, antique cars, and loved his family and friends. David was a member of Victory Church, where he served as a deacon and treasurer.

He is survived by a daughter, Teresa Lynn Smith of Findlay, sisters Loretta (Henry) Scheerer of Fremont, Ohio, Betty (Darwin) Hile of Findlay, Ohio, and Vicki Smith of Findlay; and two grandchildren Tosha Smith and Zackary Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, David Wayne Smith and Bradley Allen Smith, and a grandson Jacob Smith.

A celebration of life for David will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Victory Church, 280 Union Street, Cygnet, Ohio at 2:00 PM, with a luncheon following. Pastor William Best will be the officiant. Memorial contributions in David's honor may be made to Victory Church, Cygnet, Ohio. COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME has been entrusted with David's care.
