David Bowden Obituary
David B. Bowden, 86, of Findlay, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024.
He was born July 21, 1937, in Lowell, to Benjamin and Edna A. (Dobbins) Bowden. David married Annette L. Snyder and she preceded him in death Dec. 23, 2022.
He is survived by three sons, David (Janice) Bowden of West Liberty, Robert "Bob" (Kristine) Bowden of Findlay, and Michael (Georgia Craig) Bowden of Sunbury; grandchildren, Benjamin (Rebeka) Bowden, Jared Bowden, Lindsey (Ron) Zeisloft, Nicholas (Julie) Bowden, Catherine Craig-Bowden, and Caroline (Robert Gloeckner) Craig-Bowden; and brother-in-law, Joseph (Trina) Snyder of Findlay.
David was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry E. Bowden; sister, Nina Broderick; and brother-in-law, John (Jane) Snyder.
David was a 1959 graduate of Ohio Northern University and received his master's degree from Bowling Green State University. He served his country proudly in U.S. Army from 1960-1963. David started his teaching career at Bluffton High School. He was a teacher and golf coach at Findlay High School. He finished his career at Donnell Jr. High School, retiring in 1992. He was a talented woodworker. He enjoyed giving carving lessons and was a member of Millstream Wood Carvers. He had many other hobbies including leather crafts, making jewelry, and collecting Native American relics. David was also a man of faith and was an active member of First United Church of Christ.
Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2024, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. David's funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
Memorial contributions can me made in memory of David to NW Ohio Alzheimer's Association or First United Church of Christ.
