Darla J. (McRill) Thompson

Darla Jean (McRill) Thompson, 63, of Findlay, went to her heavenly home Sunday, March 22, 2026, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born June 22, 1962, in Findlay. She was lovingly raised by her father and stepmother, Kenneth and Linda (Rutter) McRill. On December 19, 1981, Darla married the love of her life, Mark Lee Thompson, and together they shared 47 years of marriage.

Darla was an active member of Findlay First Church of Nazarene, where her faith was an important part of her life. She enjoyed playing bingo, loved making phone calls daily to her family, and looked forward to attending the Hancock County Fair each year. She especially cherished the holidays, time spent babysitting, and the companionship of her beloved dogs. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she loved them deeply.

Those left behind to cherish Darla's memories are her mother, Linda; her loving husband, Mark; her children, Rebecca Thompson, Mark (Jackie) Thompson Jr., Anita (Brianna) Ferguson, and Clint Harrod. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, Jasmine McAdams, Cayden McAdams, Jynsen (Taryn) Dyer, Jersey Ferguson, Naomi Smith, James Decker Jr., Wyatt Thompson, and Remmington Thompson; and two great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her siblings, Richard McRill, Kim (Ron) Stapley, Ronda (Mike) Barbieri, Sherry (Roger) Osborn, Shelly McRill, Christy (Wes) Reddish, and Rhonda (Scott) Varner. Darla was also loved by Antonio Decker, Jayden Decker, and Axel Decker.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth McRill; mother-in-law, Susan Thompson; and father-in-law, Myron Thompson Sr.

Friends and family may visit from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2026, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500). Darla's funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, at the funeral home with Pastor Mike McClurg officiating. Interment will follow at Van Horn Cemetery.
