Dallas Smith Obituary

Dallas K. Smith

Dallas Smith of Findlay, Ohio, and Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away at Tampa General Hospital Saturday, March 29, 2025, with his children and his wife by his side. He was born February 11, 1957, in Bowling Green to Pete and Betty (Chamberlain) Smith, both of whom preceded him in death.

Dallas married Sharlynn Garno, and they later divorced. He married Karen Pell on December 28, 1994, in Honolulu, Hawaii. They celebrated 30 years of marriage last December. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Jessica Wyse of Whitehouse and Jamie (Chris) Clark of Bloomdale; his sons, Jacob (Danielle) Smith of Strongsville and Shannon (Jennifer) Newman of Upper Sandusky; nine grandchildren, Lyllie Clark, Jude Wyse, Ava Wyse, Christopher Clark Jr., Olivia Smith, Evelyn Smith, Everett Smith, Alyssa Newman and Addyson Newman; and one great-grandson, Hunter James Jr. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers, Cindy Bechstein of Bowling Green, Dan Smith and Tom Smith both of Findlay, and Lisa (Randy) Graber of Wayne.

Dallas retired from Air Products & Chemicals in 2017, where he drove a truck for 27 years. He achieved the distinction of driving one million safe miles. Dallas enjoyed golfing in Ohio and Florida and a cold one at the 19th hole afterwards. A golfing highlight for Dallas was a hole-in-one on number three at Hillcrest Golf Course. Dallas was a lifelong Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Browns, and Boston Celtics fan. He adopted the Ohio State Buckeyes when he met Karen.

Memorials can be made to an Organ Procurement Organization or Elmwood Athletic Boosters. His family encourages everyone to register as an organ donor.

A celebration of life will be early this summer in Ohio. Arrangements by www.LCCPG.com.

Didn´t know Dallas long. Meant him playing in a golf league. He was a great guy. Always enjoyed our conversations. Told me once that the fairway was only a suggestion. Will miss him.
