Connie Jo Barr

Connie Jo Barr, 81, of Findlay, died at 9:06 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

She was born May 7, 1941, in Fostoria, to the late Floyd and M. Ruth Karnes Horner. She married Dale Walton Barr on Oct. 22, 1960, and he survives.

Connie is also survived by a son, Bruce D. (Kristy) Barr of Lake Wales, Florida; daughter, Bonnie Eileen (Philip) Sponsler of Findlay; grandchildren, Tiffany (Josh) Bonker, Ryan Sponsler, Aaron Sponsler, Austen (fiancee, Jacqueline) Fowler, and Bruce Andrew Barr; and great-grandchildren, twins, June and Kyleigh Bonker.

She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Jo Barr; brother, Eldon F. Horner; and sister, Vicki Sue Kremper.

Connie was a 1959 graduate of Arcadia High School and earned her Bachelor of Education Degree from Bowling Green State University. She taught remedial reading in the Lakota School District and at Hope Temple Christian School, grades K-12. She was the former owner of Nu-Yu Studio of Beauty, where she sponsored and coached their softball teams. Connie was also a large Ohio State football fan. She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church and Hope Temple and was currently a member of Dayspring Assembly of God in Bowling Green. Connie was known by everyone as a "Prayer Warrior."

Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Connie's funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at the funeral home. Pastor Steve Davis will officiate and interment will follow at Knollcrest Gardens.
