He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Rebecca (Pelton) Babcock, and three sons, Bryan Neal (Doug Joseph) Babcock of Columbus, Timothy Allen (Sonja) Babcock of Findlay and John David (Lucy) Babcock of Grove City. To his life were added the blessings of grandchildren, Blake (Kristina) Babcock, Brooke (Tyler) Stephenson, Holly (Alec) Poling, Bryan Babcock, Elizabeth Babcock and Grant Babcock. He is the great-grandpa of Ava, Chloe and Gavin Babcock; Carter and Quentin Stephenson; Walker and Lucy Poling. Cliff is also survived by a brother-in-law, Tom Pelton; nephew, Tom II (Gloria); great-nephews, Caleb and Joshua; and nephew, David Pelton.

He is preceded by his parents and sister-in-law, Karen Pelton.

Cliff was a graduate of Bloomdale High School, where he played football, basketball and baseball and was in band. Upon graduation, he attended Bowling Green State University, where he majored in accounting and was inducted into the accounting honorary Beta Alpha Psi. Cliff started in Marathon's accounting department and was part of the implementation of the company's IT department.

A sports enthusiast, baseball was his first love. He represented Marathon in basketball and fastpitch softball competitions, played in a church basketball league, and coached little league, youth football, and Marathon women's softball. He played fastpitch softball locally into his fifties. For over 25 years, Cliff officiated basketball, baseball and softball. A loyal Detroit Tigers fan, he and his wife enjoyed many years of spring training games at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida. He enjoyed traveling to support his children and grandchildren in their many activities and special occasions. He and Becky continued to support Findlay High School after his children's graduations.

Cliff was a longtime member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, serving in a variety of capacities.

I have known Cliff since 1957 when we were both going to BGSU and both worked at the same Sohio Gas Station.

We went different directions after graduation then both ended up in Findlay and joined the same Church.

We also played golf together several times over the years.

He was a great person to work with and I will miss him as a friend.

Cliff was such a fixture in our lives and our daughter Alicia. They even stood with Alicia when her own grandparents couldn't attend grandparent day for basketball at FHS. He was a true fan and friend to the girls. Will miss tim and I'm sorry we won't be able to attend to say a proper good-bye. Laura and Nelson Almond
