Clara Jane Leichty

Clara Jane Leichty, 95, passed away peacefully at 8:06 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.

Clara Jane was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Hardin County, to Vernoll and Carrie (Jolliff) Howard. She married Ralph Glenn Leichty on Feb. 6, 1946, and he preceded her in death July 22, 2016. Ralph and Clara celebrated 70 years together just before Ralph's death in 2016. Clara Jane had a brother, Robert, who was seven years her senior and also preceded her in death in 2008.

Clara Jane leaves behind four children, Pamela (Dick, deceased) Kuenzli of Findlay, Terry (Bonnie) Leichty of Centerville, Peggy (Barry) Stubenrauch of New London, North Carolina, and Tim (Charlie) Leichty of Findlay; eight beloved grandchildren, Brian, Holly, Tiffany, Kelly, Jeff, Casey, Corey, and Kari; and 24 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Andrew, Brooke, Hank, Rory, Trent, David, Mason, Aiden, Kyle, Anna, Alexandra, Coleman, Oliver, Benjamin, Josiah, Dean, Talon, Beckett, Lennox, Caroline, Leah, Fritz, and Wells.

In her early years, Clara Jane was a homemaker and farmer's wife in Mt. Blanchard before Ralph was hired by Cooper Tire in 1959 and they moved their family to Findlay in 1960. In Findlay, Clara Jane was a waitress at Salsbury's Restaurant, sales clerk at Vi's Style Shoppe, and completed her career as a seamstress for many years at Miller Drapery, Arlington.

Clara Jane's passion was no doubt The Courier's cryptogram and crossword puzzle, but, above all, it was her fervent admiration of her kids.

The family would like to extend a huge heartfelt thanks to the emergency room team and third-floor Bridge Hospice Care Center at Blanchard Valley Hospital, as well as to Dr. Christian Jacobus and orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Doug Steiner.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at COLDREN CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Clara Jane's funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Clara Jane's grandson, Casey Leichty, will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Williamstown Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be made to Community Bible Church, Arlington, or Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
