Cherlynn Brooks Obituary
Cherlynn Dianne Brooks, 49, of rural Findlay, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.
She was born in Bryan to James L. Weitzel and Mary (Young) Weitzel. She first married Eric Heistand and they divorced. She then married Mark Brooks on May 17, 2011, and he survives.
Cherlynn is also survived by her parents; son, Michael C.J. (Kassandra H.) Heistand; stepchildren, Logan Russell, Crystal Brooks, and Mercedes (Nick) Ludwig; 10 grandchildren, Alexis, Serenity, Xavier, Jackson, Kaiden, Jalin, Wyatt, Oaklea, Bayne, and Kingston; two half-brothers, James Weitzel and Brian (Melissa) Weitzel; mother-in-law, Wilma (George, deceased) Brooks; and former in-laws, David and Kathy Heistand.
Cherlynn graduated from Liberty-Benton High School and Millstream Career Center with her teaching degree in Cosmetology in 1992. She worked for Whirlpool Corporation since 2001. Cherlynn loved her German Shepherds, Justyce and Chevelle, was an avid fan of the Saints, Steelers, NASCAR, Norwalk, and Truck and Tractor Pulls. She was a lifetime member of the Moose.
Cherlynn's celebration of life will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jim Klausing officiating. Burial will follow at Bechtel Cemetery, Van Buren. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, at the funeral home.
