Charles Ritter Obituary

Charles A. "Chuck" Ritter

Charles A. "Chuck" Ritter, 59, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

He was born to the late Charles W. "Bill" and Agnes M. (Bakies) Ritter.

Chuck graduated from Carey High School in 1985 and began working as an electrician. He formerly worked at Sauber Electric, OH Materials, Buckeye Machine, Copper Tire and enjoyed doing side work for family and friends. No job was too small or big for Chuck; he loved helping people.

Chuck was a man known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, never hesitating to show up for friends, family, or even strangers. His compassion and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. Chuck loved spending time fishing and boating throughout Ohio, as well as taking memorable trips to Canada. Whether on the water or relaxing with loved ones, he cherished those moments deeply. He also enjoyed going out to eat and trying new foods, though he always had a special fondness for ice cream and milkshakes.

Chuck will be remembered not only for his warmth and generosity but also for his sense of humor and his signature saying: "Life is simple-you guys make it hard." It was a phrase that reflected his outlook on life-straightforward, honest, and grounded.

He will be greatly missed by his siblings, Jill (Jeff, who preceded him in death) Dean of Findlay, Toni (Doug) Lee of Findlay, and Jeff (Lana) Ritter of Carey; nieces and nephews, Joshua (Leigh) Dean, Jenalee (David) Jacobsen, Jordan (Mia) Dean, Aaron Lee, Derrick (Corinne) Lee, Amanda Lee, Spencer (Megan) Lee, Leah (Kalob) Ludwig, Miah Ritter and Hannah Ritter; numerous great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation for Chuck will be from 3-6 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at Stombaugh-Batton and Snyder Funeral Home, 225 West Findlay St., Carey, Ohio 43316. Funeral Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Kalob Ludwig officiating. Burial will take place later at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to Carey Blue Devil Fishing Club in care of Ryan Pratt through the funeral home.
