Chuck wasn´t my father, but I am blessed because my earliest childhood memories are filled with his gentle and fun spirit as a father figure. I remember going on bike rides with him and my mom in Chicago when I was a toddler, trips to parks and the zoo. My interaction with him was limited throughout the rest of my childhood, but I was fortunate enough to reconnect with him in adulthood. And the greatest blessing of all is the detailed conversations I got to have with him over the last two months about his faith in God and his peace about his journey to heaven. He even described what he thought his home might look like in eternity.
Chuck, I hope you are enjoying the peace and beauty of your new home in heaven. I will come and visit when my time to leave this earth arrives.
