Charles Core Obituary
Charles Gregory "Charlie" Core, 71, of Findlay, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Cleveland Clinic.
He was born September 11, 1953, to Roger and Winifred (Steiner) Core.
Charles is survived by his father, Roger; children, Aaron Core, Rachel Core, and Caleb Core; sister, Jeanne (Ron) Rollins; brother, Craig (Lynda) Core and their sons, Kevin Core and Sam Core; sister, Cindy (Bruce) Ream and their children, Hannah Bowyer, Jessica Ream, and Zachary Ream; and sister, Jen (Chris) Schoonover and their children, Jordan Baker, Justin Baker, Cody Schoonover and Cory Schoonover; great-nieces, Mackenzie Baker and Charlotte Bowyer; and great-nephews, Maddox Baker, Hunter Bowyer and Xander Wolf. Additionally, he is survived by his uncle, Donald (Kathy) Steiner, and his numerous cousins, whom he dearly loved.
He was preceded in death by his mothers, Winifred Core and Barbara Core.
Charles was a 1971 graduate of Findlay High School, where he played football. He attended Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, for one year, where he also played football. After leaving Anderson, Charles attended The Ohio State University in Columbus.
Charles bought and sold community bank stock for a brokerage firm for many years and later worked at Kohl's in Findlay. He was a member of Gateway Church, North Main Campus, in Findlay. He had a deep faith in Jesus Christ, loved his family, and was an avid OSU football fan.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Gateway Church, North Campus, 620 N. Main Street, Findlay, Ohio 45840. A luncheon will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gateway Church.

To the entire Core and Steiner families,
I was deeply saddened to hear about Charlie. My most sincere condolences to you all.
Charlie was a wonderful force of nature , in the most positive of ways.
He didn´t know a stranger and could talk to anyone with ease. Charlie was a great guy, and he loved to talk about his family most of all.
May your memories of him guide you through these days ahead. He was one of a kind.

To Mr. Roger Core (Charlie´s Dad), and Brother Craig I share my deepest sympathy. As you two know, I have lost a long time friend that I have so many wonderful memories of; this is a sad time for us.
To the others in the Family that wonder when they see my name, let me just say that I remember seeing or hearing about you all, and I share your grief! I know that Charles Core, the `child of God´ holds a place in your heart, too, as you did in his.

Sorry to hear about Charlie. We were best friends back in first and 2nd grade when he lived in Gilboa. Only spoke to him a few times in years past when we crossed paths. He was a great guy. Sorry for your loss.
