Charlene A. Matthes

Charlene A. Matthes, 80, of Findlay, entered eternal life at 8:40 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2023, at Taylor Place, Findlay.

Charlene was born April 28, 1942, at the family home farm in southern Wood County to the late Charles E. and Florence M. (Reimer) Matthes.

Charlene was a 1960 graduate of North Baltimore High School. She worked in hospitality throughout her career, most notably at Findlay Inn and Imperial Inn. She was an avid reader who enjoyed her cat, Ornery, music, traveling, INDYCAR racing, and attending the theater. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish, Findlay.

Charlene is survived by two brothers, Joseph (LuAnn) Matthes of North Baltimore and Donald (Loren) Matthes of Carmel, Indiana; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Donna Davis and Cindy and Joe Strathman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward (Carla) Matthes of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and Ronald Matthes of North Baltimore.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2023, until the time of Charlene's funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, Ohio, 45840. Fr. Peter Grodi will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore.

COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 West Sandusky Street, Findlay, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Catholic School Foundation.
