Catherine M. Huerta
Catherine Huerta, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at 5 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. She was 87 years old, born May 27, 1938, in Greenville, Texas, to the late Nicholas and Elbira (Medina) Reza. Catherine's life was a testament to the power of family and the strength of her convictions.
She married Salvador Huerta, January 12, 1963, in North Baltimore, and he survives her. A true partner in life, she and Salvador built a house together in Ligonier, Indiana, in the early 2000s, a major accomplishment and a testament to their shared commitment.
Catherine was self-employed and a proud member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. For over 50 years, her faith was a central part of her life, and she found immense joy in sharing her beliefs with others. She was known for her competitive spirit at the board game table, especially while playing Sequence, Uno, and Rummy Cube. She also loved dancing and listening to country western music.
Above all, Catherine cherished her time with family. She leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years, Salvador; a son, Michael (Amy) Huerta of Cincinnati; and a daughter, Debbie (Randy) Oman of Bowling Green. She will be deeply missed by her four grandchildren, Ashley Oman, Samantha Oman, Joel Huerta, and Casia Huerta; and her six great-grandchildren, Emit Veteto, Mileena Veteto, Sebastian Huerta, Ethan Huerta, Landon Huerta, and Isabella Huerta.
She is also survived by her siblings, Anita Jordan of Findlay, Rufus Reza of Leipsic, Ohio, and Esther Lopez of Lima, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Alfredo Reza of Maryland, Vince Reza, Adolfo Reza, and Julio Reza, all of Findlay. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to bring comfort and light to all those whose lives she touched.
A remembrance will be Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 9935 OH 12, Findlay, Ohio. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., with a memorial talk from 2-3 p.m. Details for the reception will be announced at the memorial service.
