Carol Litten Obituary

Carol Litten

Carol Sue Litten, 91, of Findlay, passed peacefully Monday, August 4, 2025. She was born December 25, 1933, in Lima, to Earl F. and Beatrice B. Smith.

Carol was a 1951 graduate of Columbus Grove High School and earned a degree in medical technology from The Ohio State University.

On May 7, 1955, Carol married William Dean Litten, who preceded her in death August 26, 2022. Together, they built a loving home and raised three children.

Carol began her professional life as a laboratory technician at Fostoria Hospital. Later, she enjoyed a second career working as an admissions representative at Stautzenberger College, where she found fulfillment guiding students toward their futures.

A woman of deep faith and compassion, Carol had a lifelong love for giving back to her community and was an active member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Her generosity and kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Above all, Carol cherished her family. She took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, celebrating their milestones and accomplishments with joy. She will be remembered for her warmth, intelligence, and enduring love for those around her, and will be greatly missed.

Carol is survived by her son Troy Litten of San Francisco, California; daughter, Dawn Bennett of Findlay; grandchildren, Will (Hannah) Bennett, Paige Bennett, and Gabe Bennett; and great-grandchildren, Blair and Harper Bennett. She is also survived by her sister, Kirsten Money of San Diego, California.

She is preceded by her son and daughter-in-law, Trent and Ingrid Litten; parents; brother, Robert Smith; and sister, Beata Lackey.

Memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay.

Yesterday

My sympathies are with the family and friends. Carol and I were "room mates" at BVH many, many years ago. The short time I roomed with Carol, she had a life long impact. I was anxious and wanted to go home to see my children as it had already been 4 days. She said in a loving way, relax, you will get there soon enough. She added, "the Lord shall teach you patience". She wasn't wrong, I ended up staying an additional 4 days! Even today, 50+ years later, I remember that when I am anxious, I know I must leave it to God. We will meet again in Heaven, my friend.
