Byron E. Gleason, 81, died on January 22, 2025 at Northwest Community Hospital Hospice in Arlington Heights, IL.
He is survived by his children, Susan Stelford (Roscoe), Byron Gleason Jr. (Karin), Nancy Gleason; his grandchildren Alex Stelford, Samantha Stelford, Hannah Gleason (Jon Tron) and Bryce Gleason; and his brother, Jerry Gleason (Laura).
He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Gleason, and his daughter, Janet Gleason.
Byron was born in Cairo, Illinois, the son of Earl and Naomi Gleason, and grew up in Cairo, Illinois and later Chicago Heights, Illinois, graduating from Bloom Township High School. He lived and raised his family, first in Oak Forest, Illinois and then in Algonquin, Illinois. Byron worked for many years as an engineer in the plastics field. The majority of his career was with Baxter Healthcare as an engineer in their renal products division. After retirement, Byron spent the majority of his time residing in Woodstock, Illinois. He loved spending time with his family, traveling with friends and family, eating chili and watching sports, comedies and westerns. In addition, Byron enjoyed listening to music, playing the piano, and always sharing with family and friends his wonderful sense of humor. Byron was a baptized member of the Christian Faith.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from noon to 2 pm, with a memorial service at 2 pm at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, Illinois 60142.
