Brian Keith Sidel

Brian Keith Sidel was born Feb., 1965, to Julia Mae (Smith) Sidel and Donald Keith Leo Shane Sidel. He grew up in Bucyrus and Wapakoneta, where he met the love of his life, Debra Jorgensen, when they were both 15. They married in 1985.

They have two children, Cory (Melissa) Sidel of Syracuse, Indiana, and Autym Sidel of Newbern, North Carolina. Brian is survived by his sisters, Carmen (Mike) Fitspatrick of Bucyrus and Lacey (Jim) Parrot of Wapakoneta; and brother, Rod of Wapakoneta. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Shawn Sidel. Brian has three grandchildren, Seriniti, Marley, and David; and friends, Glen Gutierres, Nick Ford, and Kathy Pollock, who were always there.

After working at his family's bakery for years, Brian became vice president for Precision Tool and Grinding of Elida until his forced retirement. He valiantly fought COPD from his work caused environment for at least 10 years. Brian owned his own bakeries in Wapakoneta and Spencerville and a video store in Spencerville. He enjoyed numerous hobbies, including hunting, salt water aquariums, gardening, vacationing at Panama City Beach, Florida, deep sea fishing, remote control cars, and wood working. Brian will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his loving wife who was by his side for 42 years.

A celebration of his life will be 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME where visitation will be 1-4 p.m. A gathering will follow at Crates Life Appreciation Center (adjacent from the funeral home).
