Brent Stephen Ice

Our beloved husband, father, and papa, Brent Stephen Ice, 58, of Covington, Louisiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of Monday, April 3, 2023, surrounded by his wife and children.

Brent married the love of his life, Angela Joy Vis, on June 27, 1987, and she survives. The couple was blessed with four beloved children and three daughters-in-law, Dr. Calvin and Dr. Lauren Ice, Mitchell Brent and Hannah Ice, Dr. Alissa Ice, and Elliott and Madalyn Ice. He was also the proud Papa of four grandchildren who were the light of his life and a great source of encouragement and inspiration, Eliana, Peter Brent, Lydia, and Elsie.

Brent is also survived by his mother, Clarice Ice; mother-in-law, Elsie Wayman Vis; sisters, Vicki (Tim) Modert and Dr. Melonie Ice (Mike Lynch); three nieces; and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rolland Ice; and father-in-law, Larry Vis.

He was born Feb. 17, 1965, in Findlay, to Rolland and Clarice Ice. After graduating from Findlay High school, he studied Business Administration and Accounting at Cornerstone University where he also played collegiate basketball. He then earned a Masters of Business Administration from Ashland University.

He and Angela built a home in Rawson to raise their children in love and faith. Brent worked for 25 years at Marathon Petroleum, having various accounting and commercial management positions, including his most recent position as Commercial Lead of the Marine Division. He also taught Accounting and Finance courses at Marion Correction Institute, Bluffton University, and Owen's Community College, where he cherished the opportunity to share his passion for business and the hope of Christ with his students.

The family moved to Covington, Louisiana, in 2012 where he continued his career in the Marine industry and served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Florida Marine Transport.

Brent was known by all as a servant-hearted leader who lived a life marked by humility and selflessness. He earned a reputation for being a man of great integrity who pursued excellence in all of his endeavors and intentionally sought out opportunities to help those in need.

He and Angela attended Church of the King in Covington and enjoyed supporting the local community. He took pride in caring for their family farm including their three dogs and six horses. He loved the character and work ethic that sports instill and was an avid sports memorabilia collector. You could find him cheering for Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturdays and New Orleans Saints on Sundays.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2023, at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Ave., Covington, Louisiana, 70433.

Brent's celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A live-stream of the service will be available on the E.J. Fielding website immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana Covington Unit.
